Tori Dunlap started her first business when she was 9 years old. She owned several candy vending machines. All of the profits went to fund her college education.

Tori believes she learned a great deal about entrepreneurship at a young age thanks to owning those 15 vending machines.

She learned many valuable lessons with those machines, like how to pitch herself, how to handle rejection, what profits and losses were, and how to expand her business.

Years later, Tori started a blog where she answered financial questions, specifically from women. She called the website “Her First $100K”, and chronicled her quest toward saving $100K before the age of 25.

Tori eventually reached her goal and started making more money from her side job as a blogger than in her 9-to-5 job.

In this video for CNBC Make It, Tori explains her road to entrepreneurship and quitting her full-time job and career with benefits to pursue her passion project of turning “Her First $100K” into a business.

She now has a team of four people working on “Her First $100K” and her TikTok account has over 1.5M followers.

Tori has now helped thousands of women gain financial independence and believes she’s found her purpose since the website impacts the lives of so many people.
