As the saying goes, “Money doesn’t change you, it reveals who you are.”

Imagine waking up a multi-millionaire, your bank account suddenly bulging with more zeroes than you ever thought possible. Now, imagine brushing off the gold dust, tying your regular work boots, and stepping right back into the daily grind.

That’s exactly what one Oregon man said he was going to do after winning an $8.2 million lottery jackpot.

According to the Oregon Lottery, 59-year-old Ray Jones of Lake Oswego, Oregon found out he won the state’s $8.2 million Megabucks jackpot when he scanned his ticket in a local store.

The clerk told him he needed to claim his prize with the state’s lottery office.

Of course, Jones was stunned. According to the Oregon Lottery, he bought the ticket at a 7-Eleven in Portland.

“I was darn well hoping it was the jackpot,” Jones said in a statement. “I’m kind of stunned. I don’t know if I’m going to retire. I want to travel. I love to see new cultures.”

Jones told the Oregon Lottery that he works in finance for a banking company. He also told Oregon Lottery officials he would still clock in at work on Monday, even though he’s now the lucky winner of an $8.2 million jackpot.

Jones also noted that he’d use some of his winnings to travel to South Africa and other destinations, noting that he’s recently taken trips to Uruguay and New Zealand. He also noted that he’ll donate some of the winnings to charity.
