Common folk might have some pre-conceived notions of the brands rich people gravitate toward: Gucci, Prada, Rolex, the usual suspects. In actuality, though, there are seemingly endless low-key brands that the richest of the rich keep high on a pedestal. It’s mega-rich gatekeeping, if you will.

We scoured Reddit to uncover 16 of the most prevalent “quiet” luxury brands that only the richest people know exist, from travel companies to clothing labels.

1. Exclusive Resorts

Exclusive Resorts

Exclusive Resorts is an invite-only membership club for very high-end travel. They don’t post their prices online, but I know people that work there. They have personal cell phone numbers for people like Jeff Bezos, Waltons, and people that live at that stratospheric titan of industry level.

“…They have a $600M portfolio of properties they own throughout the world that only their members have access to. Want to guarantee availability for a finish-line view villa in Monaco during the Grand Prix? Want to get a ski-in cabin next to the Walton’s cabin in Aspen over Christmas? Want a luxury penthouse in Paris during fashion week? These are your guys.”  u/El_mochilero

Memberships start at $195,000 for a 10-year plan.

2. Duxiana

The company’s most affordable mattress is $5,000, but they run upwards of $10,000. Yikes.

3. Frette

4. La Cornue

“I dream of a La Cornue range. I worked with a luxury appliance dealer and he said they are legit the best range in the market, but no one who spends $40k uses the range. They put a Wolf in the chef’s kitchen and use that to cook instead haha.” – u/PistachMacaron

5. Tailors on Savile Row

6. Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe fits this bill too. The only luxury watch brand the general public knows is Rolex, which is like the Mercedes Benz of luxury watches; Mainstream luxury. The hyper-exclusive haute horology crowd likes them too, but not for the same reasons. They would consider a Rolex an ‘everyday beater’ watch.” – u/mmcc120

7. John Lobb

8. Schaeffer’s Garment Hotel

“Jeff Goldblum was on the Conan podcast and talked about where he got his jeans. It was from this hard-to-find shop in New York that not many people had heard of. Come to find out, not surprisingly, their jeans are insanely expensive and only the very rich could afford them.” – u/elmatador12

Another Redditor recalled the brand’s name and clarified the location, too. “Jeff mentioned Schaeffers Garment Hotel (in LA) and they are about $400-600 per pair.” u/jxl180

12. Zegna

Zegna, their jackets go for 10k-30k and have no visible logo. All of their items are extremely expensive but rarely do they show their logos, they only do it discretely on their cheaper items I believe. I have a leather jacket from them my grandfather bought 40 years ago and it is the best leather jacket I’ve ever seen.” – u/LordFarquad8

13. Brunello Cucinelli

“My stepdad shops at Brunello Cuccinelli. I went with him and my mom in Toronto. Tried on a hoodie and a vest that was $7,000. I saw the sneakers he has ruined the backs of because he can’t be bothered to use a shoehorn and just steps on the back of them. They were $1,500.”  u/KingJuuulian

14. Romanée-Conti

“Romanée-Conti. $10k bottles of wine that you’ve never heard of.” u/orlg

15. Ralph Lauren Purple Label

“A lot of fashion labels have higher-end lines that a lot of people don’t know about. For example, Ralph Lauren is relatively affordable to the average consumer, but most people don’t know they have a ‘purple line’ where sweaters are $995 or Double RL where a suede western shirt is $1900.” u/WtrReich

16. Aman Resorts

Aman Resorts. Holy s***. If they advertise anywhere, it’s nowhere that common folk can see it. Amangiri, outside Page, Arizona, is like you’re on another planet. You’d never know that there is a hotel off the road, up that canyon. It looks like the hotel was organically generated from the ground by a device from Krypton. The pool is drained nightly since it’s refilled from a warm spring. The driveway can be used as a landing strip for private planes. There are two or three heliports. The bottled water had color-changing labeling so you’d know if it was cold. Rates for this weekend are a bargain at $4,675 per night.” – u/LaserGecko
