Millennial Crypto Investors Have A Hilarious Nickname For Bitcoin, Many Have Moved On To Other Coins
Is there a better cryptocurrency than Bitcoin? Mark Cuban has given his answer. Younger investors have come up with quite a few more. In the process, they’ve also developed a humorous nickname for the original cryptocurrency.
While Cuban has predicted an astronomical rise in Bitcoin holders, and many Americans call it the future of money, don’t expect younger generations to lead the charge. That’s because many have moved on to “altcoins” like Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, ANKR, safemoon, and many others.
No wonder they’re referring to Bitcoin as “Boomercoin”:
Just saw someone call bitcoin "boomercoin" and oh my, the concept that a currency is worth more if it's cool.

Bitcoin may not be the “cool” crypto anymore, but it’s by far the most prevalent. From a recent Harris Poll:
- Around 7 in 10 Americans (71%) are familiar with Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market cap, while only 29% are familiar with Dogecoin and just over 1 in 5 are familiar with USD Coin and/or Ethereum (21% each).
Then again, none of that may matter. At least for now, with Elon Musk tweets moving markets, investing in crypto might be less of a mainstream game—and more of a memer’s game.
Boomercoin is Dead.
