Before humans decided to hold hands all the time with iPhones, we would more often use handy devices like clocks to tell the time. Some of those clocks have attained wild heights in the game of appreciating values, since they were made. No kidding, I was blown away by the price tags that accompany these 14 vintage collectible clocks.

This sculptural clock converts bent plywood into enlarged flower petals, and makes it as much a piece of wall art as it does a timepiece. For instance, an original Howard Miller example was sold at Wright for $3,450 in 2004, and another vintage Sunflower fetched $1,310 in 2024. Pretty impressive fetching indeed.

Sold for: $3,450

14. Cartier “Model A” Mystery Clock

An octagonal, crystal-faced clock suspended within a black and gold frame.

What’s wild about this clock is that its hands almost appear to float within transparent crystal, and are powered by a mechanism that’s concealed within the frame. A circa-1928 example was sold off for $562,500 at Christie’s in 2021.

Sold for: $562,500
