In 1900, life was slower, quieter, and full of strange little routines we’d barely recognize today. Horses clopped down dirt roads, families ate dinner in front of the fireplace, and word of mouth was faster than most mail. It wasn’t exactly the “good old days,” but it was the start of the modern world, and these vintage photos capture the year beautifully.
