10 Useless Products That People Are Still Buying

The image shows two stacks of embroidered toilet paper with humorous phrases on the left, and a hand using a white squeeze tool on a toothpaste tube, with three colorful squeeze tools nearby on the right.

Some things exist just to make us question reality. You’d think with all the tech and innovation in the world, we’d be spending money on, you know, useful stuff. But nope — people are out here practically setting their wallets on fire blowing money on useless products. From completely unnecessary kitchen gadgets to random luxury items, these are the most hilariously pointless products people keep spending money on.

1. Bottled Air

A tall silver canister labeled "Vitality Air," featuring the slogan "Enhancing Vitality, One Breath At A Time." It states "97% Pure Premium Oxygen" and holds "10 Liters." The design includes blue wave graphics.

Do you live in a polluted cesspool? No worries. You can just buy your air in a can right on eBay. And we thought this was exclusive to the Lorax’s plot.

2. USB-Powered Pet Rock

A pet rock set includes a grey rock nestled in shredded paper, a booklet titled "The care and training of your PET ROCK," and a cardboard box with cut-out holes and "PET ROCK" branding.

Pet Rock might be one of the most useless toys ever created, and the USB-powered version is no different. The description admits that the USB doesn’t actually do anything at all to the rock, and is instead just another layer of, “What does this thing even do?” confusion.

3. Designer Paper Bags

Several Chanel shopping bags of various sizes are arranged on a light-colored carpet. The bags are primarily black and white, featuring the brand's logo.

We don’t care if the word “Chanel,” “Prada,” or “Gucci” is proudly displayed on the outside of a paper bag. They’re still just paper bags.

4. Embroidered Toilet Paper

Six rolls of toilet paper with humorous quotes embroidered. Phrases include "No job is finished until the paperwork is done" and "I love the crap outta you," with playful graphics of poop emojis. Rolls are placed on a dark surface.

Call it a crazy hunch, but we’re pretty sure this is just going to end up getting flushed down the toilet. We’ll be sticking with Charmin.

5. Banana Slicer

A bunch of bananas sits on a wooden cutting board next to a banana slicer with an unpeeled banana inside. Sliced banana pieces are in a small bowl nearby.

Because using a knife is too complicated? Seriously, you can use a butter knife to (very easily) slice a banana.

6. Cat Wigs

A fluffy white cat with green eyes is wearing a bright pink wig with bangs, covering its ears. The background is plain white.

Because your cat totally wants to look like a grumpy Kardashian.

7. LED Toilet Lights

A toilet with a color-changing LED light illuminating the bowl, connected to a nearby sensor device labeled "ZEZHOU." Below are images of the toilet with different light colors: blue, purple, green, yellow, orange, and red.

Everyone loves a good rave while they pee!

8. Edible Coffee Cups

An edible cup with a cork-like texture on top and a white base. The text "CUPFFEE" and "Nice to eat you!" is printed on the cup. The design features green and orange circles.

Get outta here. Leave this for soup in a bread bowl or taco salad in a tortilla chip bowl. There is no place for this sogginess in the culinary or cafe worlds.

9. Gold-Plated Staples

A pile of gold and silver staples is in the foreground. Behind them are a spiral notebook, a calendar open to July, and a box labeled "Staples" on a light gray surface.

Remember when Elle Woods had custom pink stationery that she spritzed with perfume? Gold staples give off the same vibe. Luxury documents are just not necessary, folks.

10. Single-Use Plastic Toothpaste Squeezer

Hands using a plastic tube squeezer to extract toothpaste from a tube. The squeezer is white, and there are three more squeezers in different colors (pink, teal, and yellow) on a marble surface.

Just use your hands. Seriously.
